John Barney was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He received a bachelor of music degree from the University of Miami, FL, in 1991, where he graduated as the top student in the music media and industry program. He then attended the University of Miami School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 1994. During law school, he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and of the Entertainment & Sports Law Review. John was admitted to practice law in Florida in 1994, Tennessee in 1996, and Alabama in 2007. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is also a member of the Nashville Bar Association. John is married to the former Lalli May. They have two children, Nathanael and Sydney. John is also an avid golfer. |
